Word Flash was developed as a traditional paper flashcard replacement to help teach babies, toddlers and young children to sight read.
About Abisoft
Abisoft is short for Abigail's software. As the founder of the company I started developing apps to help teach my daughter, Abigail, to read. The first app developed was Word Flash, a simple alternative to traditional paper flashcards. With the help of this app, Abigail was able to sight read and understand over 100 words by the time she was 2 years old, despite the fact that she has Down Syndrome.

After Word Flash, other apps soon followed, primarily focusing on educational apps for young children. Although educational apps continue to be the primary focus at Abisoft, there is one exception. In 2015, Load Shedding Notifier was developed, to assist with planning for load shedding, which became necessary in South Africa as a result of poor planning on behalf of Eskom. Although it didn't have as many users as some other similar apps that were developed, it quickly became the top rated load shedding app, probably as a result of its reliability and features.
